Step-by-Step Instructions

Open the AirTag
- Press down gently on the stainless steel cover (the side with the Apple logo).
- Rotate the cover counterclockwise until it loosens.
- Remove the cover and set it aside.

Remove the Battery
- Take out the battery to ensure the device is powered off.

Locate the Speaker
- The speaker is integrated into the AirTag's housing. Sound is generated by a coil in contact with the metal frame.

Disable the Speaker
- There are two possible methods:
- Break the Contact: Use tweezers or a plastic tool to gently disconnect the coil from the metal frame.
- Add Insulation: Place a small piece of insulating material (e.g., thin foam) between the coil and the metal frame to dampen the sound.

- Reinsert the battery and test the AirTag. If the sound is no longer audible, the modification was successful.
